Wine has been produced and drank for thousands of years and is grown in every State in the U.S. and most countries of the world.  It is truly one of the most diverse agricultural products on the planet.  Culture, grape varieties, climate, grape growing and wine making all come together to form the traditions and quality of wines.  

We are fortunate to live on the West Coast, home to the largest concentration of wineries in the U.S.  Our home State of Oregon is a world-class wine region with 700+ wineries growing 72 grape varieties in 19 different American Viticulture Areas (AVA).  Oregon wineries focus on small production and high quality, 70% produce less than 5000 cases per year.  Our mild climate and long growing season allow us to produce many outstanding wines, especially the Pinot Noir wines we are famous for.  Our wines have received many accolades, including more than 20% of Wine Spectator magazine’s Outstanding 90+ point ratings for U.S. wines in recent vintages.   

Our location in the Willamette Valley AVA, Oregon’s largest, gives us access to and intimate knowledge of all the region has to offer.  I am here with over 30 years of wine experience to welcome you to our classes and help you fall in love with wine.
